insurance company based in

who offer a wide range of insurance and broker services often in
conjunction with other underwriting companies.
They offer a wide range of very specific car insurance
policies for private and business customers and an example of a
policy that is underwritten by another company is the BDULR policy
which is a fully insured product underwritten by IGI Insurance
Company and administered by Broker Direct.
In many ways, Broker Direct are themselves a combination of a
service for brokers as well as insurance providers and any product
offered through them must be purchased through a separate broker.
Their car insurance policies
fall into two main types. The
BDULR policy, as mentioned above, provides cover of up to £50,000
per insured incident and protects the customer against losses such
as transport costs, loss of earnings, vehicle repairs and damage to
personal belongings. In
addition, Broker Direct also offers a range of very specific
policies under the EDI Motor insurance range, which gives brokers
the chance to offer a Broker Direct product in many cases.
There is a range of seven different insurance products which
are aimed at, for example, standard lifestyles, young/new drivers,
older drivers and drivers who drive mainly during off peak hours.
Broker Direct describe one policy as being ‘lifestyle
biased’, meaning that for many lifestyles Broker Direct can offer
an extremely good price but there may be some lifestyles which raise
the price of the quote quite considerably.
This helps to keep the cost down for those with low risk
lifestyles.
