subsidiary of Groupama,
one of the strongest financial groups in
Europe
. Groupama are experts
in health and agricultural insurance and have a huge workforce of
over 32,000 people. The
origins of the company can be traced back to
France
in the 1840’s, a far cry from their standing today as a massive
player in the insurance market.
Groupama Insurance in the
UK
is based in
Manchester
with specialist centres located around the country.
Building on Groupama’s expertise, the office in Tonbridge
now heads up the growing healthcare division.
Groupana Insurance has been a prize-winner at many awards
including three awards in 2002 at the British Insurance Awards.
Their motor insurance
policies are divided into four main areas: Optima Private Car which
is a flexible policy ideal for most users, Optima Plus which is
aimed at customers with performance or prestige cars or Japanese
grey imports. Grey
imports are vehicles that were designed and manufactured outside the
EU and therefore may not have been manufactured meet European Type
Approval which therefore increases the cost of the insurance for the
vehicle. Optima Bike
insurance covers motorbikes and Optima Van insurance insures vans
with flexible cover for the self-employed.
